Reminder about open windows

Here is a reminder from me. Here in the summer months we like to keep the windows open (for those that don't have a/c anyway) Let's all be very mindfull of the open windows and screens on them. Kids can push the screens out and escape or worse, fall out.

I bring this up b/c in less than a month, 2 children have fallen and had very different outcomes.

First, a little one of two fell from a third story window and landed on the concrete below. The parents of this little love are friends with a mom in the Ds community so they are family in my mind. He spent awhile in Doernbeckers/OHSU where Brook was when she was born. I went to visit this stranger and bought her lunch. Least I could do. If you wish to read about this brave little boy.... www.prayersforaidan.blogspot.com He is now in a different hospital and doing ABSOLUTLY AWESOME!!! Thank God.

Second, two days ago the life flight landed at Brooks school. (I can see it from out back at work) Everytime I see the lifeflight I Pray it's no one I know. A few times it has been. Small town living. This flight held a five yr old boy from the apts out back. He fell from a second story window, landed on the concrete below, and tragically passed away from his injuries. All the children who used to play out side by the back fence with him have been so tramitized by this incident, I feel horrible for them.

Just a reminder to keep a good eye out, get some a/c or maybe bars on the windows. I don't want to read/hear/see any more of this kind of stuff that can/could of been avoided. Sad!!

I agree with you 100% These things can be avoided.

Have I told you how adorable Brook is? Her eyes just melt me. Beautiful!
